An aligned mission
Dogs West (the Canine Association of WA) and PD Insurance share a very important mission: helping breeders and owners protect their dogs’ health and happiness.
We became partners in April 2024 and have been working together to support ethical breeding and inform, educate and raise awareness about the need for responsible dog ownership. We also offer a referral program with special benefits to Dogs West accredited breeders (more on this below).
Dogs West is the largest representative body of dog owners in WA – working at the local, state and federal government level. It provides its members with key info and resources on breeding and care, as well as running affiliate dog training programs, hosting events and competitions, and creating a community of breeders and dog lovers.

Our breeder referral program
Customers get nearly 2 months of free cover
PD Insurance wants puppies to get the best start in life. With us, breeders and new puppy parents enjoy the following:
- Dogs West accredited breeders can give new puppy parents who buy puppies from them 3 weeks FREE Starter Cover.
- New puppy parents receive 1 month FREE insurance when transitioning from 3 weeks FREE Starter Cover to a PD Insurance policy. That means nearly 2 months free cover.
- Dogs West accredited breeders can earn a CASH REWARD each time one of their customers signs up for a PD Insurance policy when transitioning from Free Starter Cover.
- Dogs West accredited breeders can also earn CASH REWARDS for successfully referring anyone else with a dog to PD Insurance (this is separate from puppies bought from the breeder and applies to any dog between six weeks and nine years old).

Up to $1,000 in FREE pet insurance cover for the first 3 weeks of puppy parenting.
ACCIDENT COVER
Immediate cover for accidents like bone fractures, cuts and bites.
ILLNESS COVER
Cover for illnesses like infections, skin conditions and gastrointestinal issues after a 3-day waiting period.
VET TREATMENT
The ability to seek treatment from any registered vet in Australia.
FIXED EXCESS
A $125 fixed excess applied to any claims made during the Starter Cover period.
