Wondering if you’d ever use your kitten insurance plan? You’d be surprised.
Here are the 3 most common incidents cat parents claim for with us, each showing an example of one customer’s total vet costs.
Please remember, kitten insurance claims are always subject to limits.
Infections can come out of nowhere and affect Felix fast… From respiratory tract to bladder to nail bed, we’ll cover your kitten from ear tips to paw.
When the bee stings. When the dog bites… or the neighbour’s kitten. Bite wounds are our second highest cat insurance claim type. Meow!
Kittens are curious, playful and think they have nine lives. Little do they know, injuries are the no.3 claim type for us kitten slaves/owners…
Policy terms, conditions, limits, exclusions and excesses may apply and vary between kitten insurance plans. The above representations are for illustrative purposes only and have been prepared without taking into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. Vet costs will always vary between individual circumstances.
Finding the most suitable pet insurance for kittens can be confusing – we get it. Read these explanations to understand exactly what you get from your PD pet insurance policy.
This refers to the total amount we’ll pay in a year towards your pet’s claimable expenses. For example, if you take out our Deluxe Plan the maximum amount in any one year you can claim is $20,000. Across our plans we have a per claim limit, which is subject to 80% reimbursement and is the most we’ll pay per claim. Each new event, condition, illness or accidental injury is considered a new “Claim” or “Event”. You’ll find your defined benefit limit and your claim limits outlined in your Certificate of Insurance.
An insurance cover limit is the maximum we’ll pay toward a covered claim. Generally speaking, the higher your cover limit, the higher your premium. We offer three kitten insurance plans and each plan offers different cover limits. You’ll find your policy’s cover limits outlined in your Certificate of Insurance.
Excess refers to the amount of money you need to pay when making a claim with your pet insurance. With PD Insurance, you have the option to choose your excess value, which can be set at $100, $200, or $300.
For instance, if you have selected a $100 excess and you receive a $1,000 vet bill, your claim will amount to $800. In this scenario, your excess will be $100, and we will cover the remaining $700 of the bill.
These can vary widely between kitten insurance providers. A waiting period is the amount of time that must pass before your cover for a certain benefit will begin, starting from the policy start date. Depending on which of our kitten insurance plans you choose, some benefits may have a waiting period.
This refers to the amount we pay towards your kitten insurance claim. Know that with our pet insurance for kittens, we’re committed to reimbursing as soon as possible.
Like other kitten insurance companies, we exclude pre-existing conditions. This refers to conditions that occurred before you started your policy with us (or during the waiting periods).
When your kitten needs veterinary care, go to your trusted vet and ensure your pet receives treatment.
Activate your kitten insurance claim online, providing a few simple details and the vet invoice.
We normally pay you within 2 business days of receiving all necessary paperwork, thanks to our dedicated in-house team~.

PD Insurance Classic and Deluxe pet insurance plans cover veterinary expenses incurred as a result of illness, including illnesses arising from hereditary conditions, after the required waiting period has passed. Our Accident Plan does not.
An illness means an unexpected sickness or disease, or any change to your kitten’s normal healthy state. This could be an upset stomach, a skin condition or an ear infection, or another sickness/disease that is not caused by an accidental injury.

Third party liability refers to the financial loss you may suffer if your kitten causes damage to other people or their property. After all, kittens can be unpredictable.
With PD Insurance, you can rest assured that you’re covered by your pet insurance as long as:
-The injury was not suffered by a family member residing with you
-The property is not owned by you or anyone residing with you (or in a trust held by you or someone residing with you)
-The damage or injury occurs in Australia
Please read the PDS for limits, terms and conditions.
