It’s great to see how many Australians are already thinking about it – 28% of respondents to our latest research who will roadtrip between April 2020 and April 2021 said one reason for doing so was to support bushfire affected communities #hearteyes
The regions affected by these catastrophic events are many in number and vast in size. So, we’ve listed just a few below that we think would be perfect for a roadtrip.

Roadtrip to NSW Bushfire Affected Areas
- Byron Bay hinterland – famous for tranquil scenic beauty such as Nightcap Ridge and quirky towns like Nimbin
- Blue Mountains – a world heritage area filled with walking trails, lookouts and waterfalls
- Batemans Bay – a Southern Highlands town famous for its reefs, native animals and ocean life
Roadtrip to ACT Bushfire Affected Areas
- Michelago – known for its Australian cultural legacies and a heritage-listed railway station
- Moyura – a strong farming community with bountiful produce and twice-weekly markets
Roadtrip to VIC Bushfire Affected Areas
- Mallacoota – a quiet East Gippsland holiday getaway spot surrounded by forests, beaches and pristine waterways
- Bright – surrounded by mountains, it’s known for wineries and is close to Mount Hotham skiing
