Preventing, Identifying and Treating Intestinal Worms in Dogs
Intestinal worms, such as roundworms in dogs are one of the least glamorous topics on the planet. These intestinal parasites that basically use our dogsWhat do you get when you take two of life’s greatest pleasures and put them together? Movies with cats, obviously. Sorry dog lovers, this is not for you – head on over to our dog movies article!
Thanks to the pandemic, technological advancements, etc etc, online streaming has become the norm. So you don’t even have to leave the house to indulge in your favourite selection of movies with cats.
Movies with cats to add to your watch list
Cats have featured in some of our favourite films for years, from kids classics to the slightly more weird musicals…you know exactly what we’re talking about. If you’re already heading to the kitchen to prep the popcorn, here are some movies with cats you can add to your weekend binge list.
With your cat of course – because cats and TV are a match made in heaven.
Cats: movie with cats everywhere
We had to address the elephant in the room. You can’t talk about movies with cats without adding…well…Cats the movie. Although it’s probably one of the most well-known cat-related films, it seems to be famous for all the wrong reasons.
Though the original Broadway show was well received, the movie was almost a complete flop. Despite having an all-star cast featuring Rebel Wilson, Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, and even Taylor Swift, people just didn’t enjoy it.
It’s even made lists of the worst films ever.
But, you know. Whether it’s objectively awful or not shouldn’t bother you too much. You might hate it, but don’t let that be because the critics told you what you’re allowed to enjoy!
If you’re a music fan, you might still have fun watching the movie at home. And just to give you a glimpse of the music, which really is the main drawcard, here’s one of the standout songs.
The classic: Alice in Wonderland
So Alice in Wonderland isn’t technically about cats, but we think the Cheshire Cat’s appearance means it qualifies. Whether you go for the original old-school version or the newer one featuring Johnny Depp, Alice in Wonderland is a total classic.
Tumble down the rabbit hole with Alice, The Mad Hatter, and the Cheshire Cat for a couple of hours of fun. Whether you watch it with the kids or by yourself, it’s definitely a fun (and a little weird!) way to spend a rainy weekend afternoon.

Bob The Street Cat: a true-story movie with cats
Bob The Street Cat is one of the best movies with cats out there. It’s based on a true story about a stray ginger cat (Bob) who makes friends with a man named James Bowen. Bowen was struggling with addiction, poverty, and homelessness when he met Bob, who was neglected and hurt.
Regardless, Bowen took Bob to the SPCA and funded his veterinary treatment. And so began a lifelong friendship – no way was Bob going to return to roaming the streets without a human! James and Bob became a pair who were glued at the hip.
Bob would sit on his dad’s shoulders as he busked, and they quickly became a bit of a “viral” hit with spectators filming and uploading the videos online.
We won’t ruin the rest of the story, but it’s a heartwarming tale of the bond between cats and humans. Think Marley and Me, but the cat version. And prepare to shed a few tears into your popcorn.
It seems like Bob was forever grateful for a human loving and rescuing him, and gave him years of companionship and loyalty in return for one act of kindness. Sounds like a lovely reason to adopt a cat to us!
The Cat in the Hat: Kids movies with cats
Dr Seuss was part of most of our childhoods thanks to the fun, creative children’s books. The movie features a young Dakota Fanning and her brother who are left home alone and visited by a cat in a hat, played by Mike Myers of Austin Powers game. Of course, things go haywire very quickly.
This movie with cats is definitely fun for kids thanks to the brightly coloured greens and purples, and the over-the-top main feline character. It didn’t stay true to the original book, so adults might find themselves a little bit disappointed. But that’s often the case with book adaptations and it shouldn’t prevent you from watching it. Especially if your young kids haven’t experienced the book yet and just want a fun movie with cats to pass the time.

Family-friendly movie with cats: Cats and Dogs
Can’t choose between movies with cats and movies with dogs? You get the best of both worlds in the family-friendly film Cats and Dogs.
We all know that in real life cats and dogs can be best of friends. But not in this movie, where cats and dogs are ancient rivals with a feud dating back centuries.
A white Persian cat called Mr. Tinkles is the mastermind behind a secret plot to make all humans on Earth allergic to dogs. While he’s not at home being dressed up and smooched by his somewhat-embarrassing human family, that is.
We love this fun take on a cat vs dog rivalry, featuring each side waging war on one another through secret agents, rogue groups, and pet technology that would make James Bond jealous. All while they go about their daily lives with their human families who are none the wiser.
