Intestinal worms, such as roundworms in dogs are one of the least glamorous topics on the planet. These intestinal parasites that basically use our dogsTravelling with a furry friend is amazingly fun. No wonder it’s a travel trend on the up! In fact, a recent TripAdvisor survey found that 53% of respondents travel with their pets, and 52% will only stay at pet friendly Airbnbs or cat and dog friendly accommodation spots.
With more or less half of travellers cruising around with Felix or Fido, places of hospitality are going to need to adapt to make room for the fur kids – or lose out on a huge chunk of business.
Luckily, there are some amazing cat and dog friendly accommodation spots in Australia that welcome pets with open paws. We’ve rounded up some for you here. #1 Pet-friendly Airbnb: The Bangalow Barn in NSW
Unique, luxurious, eco-conscious, and fur kid ready. The Bangalow Barn in Bangalow New South Wales is a top Airbnb pick with room for six humans and two pets.
This stylish accommodation option is constructed from the property’s original horse stables and decorated using recycled materials inside and out. It overlooks Byron Creek and is a 10-minute drive to the ever popular Byron Bay. #2 The Vineyard Residence in VIC
If you want to turn up the dial on luxury, then The Vineyard Residence in Porepunkah in the Alpine Valley Wine Region is the choice for you and your pet(s).
This architecturally spectacular home stands atop a gorgeous vineyard and offers views of the famous Mount Buffalo. With four luxurious bedrooms, it offers space for 10 guests and up to five pets. Just note that if you’re bringing more than two pets, you’ll need to let the host know.
You’ll be welcomed at this pet-friendly Airbnb with a bottle of wine of your choice and will be left to relax and enjoy the following amenities:

#3 Pet-friendly Airbnb: The Top Paddock in TAS
Let’s go glamping! This charming yurt in the Tasmanian bush is just the ticket if you want a rustic, pet-friendly Airbnb for you and your fur kid. It’s beautifully decorated inside and features a roof curtain that you can unclip at night to gaze at the stars and moon.
With over 20 acres to explore, you’ll be able to take in all the fresh air and wave to the miniature goats, lambs and turkey that stroll around on the property. There’s a small cabin down the road and up the hill, so while you might see a car going past every now and then, the rest of the time you’ll be enjoying total privacy and the sounds of the bush. With cat and dog friendly accommodation for up to four guests and five pets (as always, notify the host if you’re bringing more than two pets) – this is the perfect set-up for a romantic getaway by the fire or a fun weekend with friends.
The tiny house is completely off-grid, with a wood fireplace to keep you toasty warm and a deck to enjoy the morning sunshine. Situated in Nightcliff in the Northern Territory, this airy, spacious home accommodates 4 adults and up to 5 pets (as long as you let the hosts know beforehand!). Your pup will love roaming around in the beautifully manicured garden, and you’ll love the outside dining option and sparkling tropical-style pool.
Tropical Tranquillity is a few steps away from Nightcliff Beach, the Jetty and foreshore – so there are plenty of walking options. To cover extra cleaning, please note that they have a pet fee of $50, which will be added to your total reservation amount after booking.
